I do not mind going cheap on food. I do not mind going cheap on used books. I do not even mind going cheap on electronic equipment. But I bought a bag of cheap double bladed razors, 12 double bladed shaving implements for 6 bucks. I figured that a standard high quality razor can last for quite a while if I clean it properly, so the twelve normal razors should have easily lasted 75% as long each, so I figured I had spent 150% of the cost of a high quality razor and would get 900% of the normal shaving time. What a deal right? Absolutely wrong. I was able to shave about half of my face before the blade was too dull to continue shaving. Even pressing down really really hard either broke the handle or, strangely enough, made my face bleed.
Anyhow, this is probably not useful for anybody, but I have added something to my, "do not go cheap on these things" list. Toilet paper, winter wear (a pricey two or three coats will last a lifetime), and now shaving supplies. I have shaved twice with my new razors and I have 6 left.
This is a web page about whatever I find interesting. If anything here is helpful to you, please let me know.

All right, shutting down grass roots food production.
Nothing like making it impossible for people without billions of dollars to make money or contribute to society.
I once read that global capitalism is like a giant organism that can use any competing system to create anti-bodies to ensure its own perpetuation. Interestingly enough, god-money, whose body is the market has infiltrated the government because in the name of capitalism nobody thought to bridal the interests of those in office. They now have the ability to be the only people with freedom to operate the market. The socialists want everybody to be socialists but themselves, the whole of the world has become the means to the end of their comfortable existence. If we think of certain systems within nature as gods and their complicity in evil as an example of demonic action, we very well may be watching as god-money becomes worse than god-violence. When the power of the state becomes the visible hand of the market I feel that we are in deep shit...swords ought not be wielded by such impersonal forces as money, nor the people who have become its lackeys.
Note: I am not free of this, I work for a giant corporation. I spend money on things I need and want. I voted. I drive a car that uses petrol. I hate that though I want to do good, the good I want to do I often cannot do without participating in evil.
