Politics Schmolitics
I've been thinking about some things lately, and I'm going to say them at the expense of probably being viewed as an idiot, but here goes. Okay, first off, if you're one of those individuals who thinks that gay marriage is bad, and vote against it, and quote the bible and what not, if your life isn't centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ, please shut up. If all you beleive is what furthers your political agenda then shut up. If you're main concern isn't preaching the gospel that says you've sinned as bad as any homosexual, murderer, theif, genocidal maniac, or terrorist, but you use the bible anyway do us a favor and shut up. I indeed believe that fornicating at all is bad, that includes homosexual behavior, I also believe that failing to preach the gospel when it is needed is bad. The people who last forever should be far more important to us than a nation that will fade into dust as God lives eternally. Look, legislating morality is a good thing, and if we have that opportunity we should legislate the right morality. Any legislation is a legislation of morality, it's law that is punished if not followed, so that's not the issue here. The issue is that idiots try to legislate morality that they really don't give a flip about and make Christianity look stupid. Of course we're supposed to look foolish, but not for doing wrong things, but for doing right at the risk of everything. Besides the world, including governments, isn't supposed to be the Church or do the Churches job. The government is an instrument God uses to bring about justice, and it is an institution that is supposed to exist, so we should help it, and try to improve it. But thinking about ways the government can get rid of sins you're scared of is absurd, fixing your life is far more important. How about this, see where you're in sin, and think about what those sins are. They're vile, disgusting, filthy rags, detritus, vomit. Maybe preach the gospel using your own sins as an example to the evil we're stuck in, and then tell of the conversion process that started when the God who died and rose changed your heart. That would do this fallen world infinitely better than using the bible to prove your political points. This is addressed to any who may ever read it.

Christianity Part 2: Moral Happiness
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Mat 5:8
That ye may walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God Col 1:10
One can't help but read these verses and come to the conclusion that there is something deeply satisfying about doing God's will. A sense of the deepness of a new heart being comforted by God's grace that what we do is indeed what He would have us do. It is obvious that at the center of Christianity is a moral experience, our moral state is at the root of our condition before the Lord. But just as every believer shall face a state of moral despair before a God who is holy, we must necessarily experience a state of moral happiness, our hearts have been changed, and a changed heart takes pleasure in the work of the Lord, for we are no longer enemies of God. So for all of you twice born, be sorrowful before the Lord for your sins, for godly sorrow leads to repentance, so work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for God works in you to do His will. With this in mind be joyful before the Lord, love His law, revel in His grace, boast nothing but Christ before the throne, meditate on His commands, for unless you follow them you are no friend of God.
