What if?

Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is cruel as the grave; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of Jehovah. Many waters cannot quench love, nor will the rivers overflow it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be scorned. Song of Solomon 8:6-7

Of course, this is talking specifically about matrimonial love and there are different types of love, but imagine, if you will, how life would be if you could speak of all the different types of love you had like this. Nothing should quench the love of spouse, but what if nothing quenched your love for God, Jesus says that if you love Him, you will follow His commands. Imagine if you loved all your brethen with patience and longsuffering that was unquenchable. Imagine loving the things God created for you so much that you put them in the proper place, below Him and everybody else, imagine if nothing could stop you from this, if no amount of water could stop it. Pray that no amount of good or bad will stop you from loving, that would be revolutionary.

Could it really be true?

I have decided to open my blog up with a poem because poems are appropriate, as the world started with One who is Word and God.

If the truth sounds like a lie,
You're not the only one.
I assure you it often seems that way.
The panic call that wakes from slumber,
To the greatest news from an invisible land.
The death of a loved one,
A kingdom so old it's new is at hand.
Tears of searing pain, or
The salted cheeks of sweet release.
If you're seeking for something more
More than the truth that scars,
The Truth that is scarred is seeking you.
As false as truth can seem to be,
Truth is truth, it cannot cease.

Hopefully the only thing I'll write about is Truth, and hopefully it will always be written in love.
